Pyramid Observation Tool

The Pyramid observation tool as explained by Sara Retief.

Interesting way of using an observation tool to look closely at an educator’s action with children. It works towards building positive relationships between adults and children. A very thought out model which supports all seven areas of the NQS particularly Standard 5 – Relationships with children.

What are we doing if there is no relationship???

Love the following statement by Tom Herner (NASDE President) Counterpoint, 1998. p2.

.

“If a child doesn’t know how to read, we teach.
If a child doesn’t know how to swin, we teach.
If a child doesn’t know how to multiply, we teach.
If a child doesnt know how to drive, we teach.
If a child doesnt know how to behave,
we…………. …………teach? …………punish?

Why can’t we finish the last sentence as automatically as we do the others?”
